Finances
I thought i should share information on what the costs were for this trip for those that might be interested in taking a similar trip through the interior. Flight: I am fortunate that my costs for the flight were minimal as i am on Kates passes. I did however look on the Transat website and found that return flights were regularly available for roughly $800. Bike Rental: Soulful Bikes here in Faro are a great place to rent if you want to go on two wheels. My 9 day rental

Summation: Thoughts on the trip.
My first thought is that i am really glad that i decided to take this trip and get the chance to see parts of Portugal that i probably would not have seen otherwise. Having been to Porto, Liston and Faro a number of times, and a 2024 stay where we explored the Southern Algarve region, i knew that i loved Portugal, but really would not have had a reason do explore the interior where it not for this trip. Day 9: Moura back to Faro
You could not ask for better weather for a good day on the road on 2 wheels. It was already 12 degrees by 9am in Moura. I had a nice breakfast at the hotel, and packed up to be on the road just after 9. My path today would take me through the South Eastern portion of the Alentejo region before descending into the Algarve. Riding today was blocked at 4 hours and change, and i still had to allow for returning the bike by 4pm, so i did not make any long stops on the road, on

Day 8: Elvas to Moura.....Castles, Castles and More Castles.
Today was bittersweet. The weather was beautiful, the roads were empty and the scenery and points of interest were outstanding, but all the good things about the day were tempered by the knowledge that this was my second to last day on the road. Today was not scheduled to be a big day of riding at only just over 3 hours, but there were a number of points of interest that would make me deviate from the direct route to have a better look.
